Summer Lessons and Opportunities
SUMMER LESSONS:
There will be no summer group classes.
During July, lessons will be offered during whatever days and times you wish, as long as I have availability. I will be out of town from June 30th-July 5th. Please email me about July lessons if you have not already done so.
During August, I will not be teaching*!
AUGUST OPPORTUNITIES:
· Peninsula Youth Orchestra summer camp: August 14-18
o This day camp is suitable for beginners through intermediate players. It includes orchestra practice, theory, and outdoor games. The week culminates in an outdoor performance open to the public.
· Kitsap Philharmonic auditions: date TBA, in August
o KPhil is a youth orchestra that rehearses at Central Kitsap High School during the academic year, on Sunday evenings. They currently have a beginning and an advanced ensemble, giving an opportunity for a full orchestra experience.
o For your audition you should be prepared to play the following:
· One Major scale of your choice
· For advanced students: a two-octave Major and a two-octave melodic minor scale of your choice
· Two minutes of music that best demonstrates your ability (no accompanist)
· Sight reading provided by artistic staff
*If you are planning on auditioning for KPhil and want some extra help with audition preparation in August, I will absolutely make time for you! Please email me about this if applicable.
